MX & DNS Lookup Tool

MX & DNS Lookup Tool

Instantly check the Mail Exchange (MX), SPF, and DMARC records of any domain to diagnose email delivery and spoofing issues.

What is an MX Record?

A Mail Exchange (MX) record is a DNS record that specifies the mail server responsible for accepting email messages on behalf of a domain name. If a domain has no MX records, it generally cannot receive emails.

What is an SPF Record?

The Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an email authentication method designed to detect forging sender addresses during the delivery of the email. SPF allows the receiving mail server to check during mail delivery that a mail claiming to come from a specific domain is submitted by an IP address authorized by that domain's administrators.

What is a DMARC Record?

Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC) is an email authentication protocol. It is designed to give email domain owners the ability to protect their domain from unauthorized use, commonly known as email spoofing. It builds on the widely deployed SPF and DKIM protocols.

How does this tool work?

This tool performs read-only, real-time DNS queries against public nameservers to fetch the exact configuration of a domain. It does not send any emails, nor does it connect to the SMTP server. It strictly reads the public DNS zone file for MX, TXT (SPF), and DMARC entries.
